CATS AND DOGS LEFT TO DIE IN THE HOUSE
Reports were received by the Kandıra District Governorship and Kandıra Municipality regarding foul odors emanating from a house and a large number of animals being kept in unsuitable conditions. Under the coordination of the District Governorship, teams from the Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, District Police Department, District Agriculture and Forestry, and District Health Directorate conducted work at the specified address.

After obtaining the necessary legal permissions, an inspection of the house revealed that the animals were struggling to survive due to a lack of hygiene and severe neglect. 38 dogs and 17 cats, which had been determined to have been neglected for a long time and kept in conditions that negatively affected the environment, were seized.
The animals, which underwent initial health checks by veterinarians, were taken to the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Animal Shelter for their treatment and care. It was reported that administrative sanctions were applied to those responsible for the incident and a judicial investigation was initiated.
