Antalyaspor President Sinan Boztepe made striking statements regarding the club's financial situation. Boztepe stated that they need to make a payment of 55 million lira by February 10. Otherwise, he expressed that the club would have 3 points deducted. The president also added that they had previously received extensions twice during this process, but this time they do not have the chance for a postponement.
The president of Antalyaspor, Sinan Boztepe, and vice president Fatih Gürcü were guests on the Sports Active program moderated by İhsan Coşkun, the editor-in-chief of Antalya Ekspres Newspaper. During the program, Boztepe clarified questions from fans and shared striking information about the club's financial situation.
"SOMETHING LIKE IMPOSSIBLE"
Boztepe stated that a total debt of 4.2 million euros needs to be paid, indicating that 1.2 million euros of this amount was incurred during his term, while 3 million euros was a debt carried over from the past. He mentioned that it would be impossible to make transfers if the debt is not paid, saying, "We spent almost the entire first half of the season looking for money day and night. If we do not close this debt, making transfers will be something like impossible." The president emphasized that this process is a common problem not only for Antalyaspor but for all Anatolian clubs.
RISK OF POINT DEDUCTION
Boztepe noted that the financial pressure on the club has increased further with the new spending limits announced by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), stating, "We received a spending limit of 181 million lira from the TFF. This means a negative situation for us. Therefore, we are trying to create a limit for ourselves by conducting sponsorships and sales revenues through a joint-stock company. However, this is not enough. We need to make a payment of 55 million lira by February 10. Otherwise, we will lose 3 points. During this process, we have previously received extensions twice, but this time we have no chance of postponement." Boztepe mentioned that they are accelerating efforts to create sponsorships and revenue sources for the club, but noted that the process is very challenging.
