The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) sent a directive requesting clubs to close legal betting advertisements in stadiums and to use black bands following betting operations. TFF announced that it has banned all advertising and marketing activities of betting sites in Turkey. This directive covers all visible advertisements in stadiums and official areas. League name sponsorships listed on TFF's official website have also been removed.
While the betting operations shaking the football world continue, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has communicated a new decision to the clubs. It has been learned that the TFF took action following the "stay of execution" decision communicated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports' Sports Toto Organization Presidency.
OFFICIAL INSTRUCTION FROM TFF TO CLUBS
In a letter sent to the clubs this morning by the TFF under the management of İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, it was reported that all advertising and marketing activities related to betting sites operating in Turkey have been banned. It was stated that the instruction covers all visible advertisements in official areas, especially in stadiums.
DETAIL OF "COVER WITH BLACK TAPE" DREW ATTENTION
According to journalist Tahir Kum's report, the federation requested clubs to cover legal betting advertisements in stadiums and official areas with black stickers. It was emphasized that the implementation should be completed before the first match hosted, and otherwise, TFF representatives would report the situation.
LEAGUE NAME SPONSORSHIPS HAVE ALSO BEEN REMOVED
Following the instruction, the removal of league name sponsorships listed on the TFF's official website also drew attention. This step was interpreted as an indication of the federation's stance against betting advertisements.
THE IMPLEMENTATION WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE NEXT NOTICE
According to the information shared by Tahir Kum, it was stated in the letter sent to the clubs that the implementation would be valid until the next notice. The scope of the decision and possible new steps are expected to become clear in the coming days.
