The veil of mystery has been lifted in the missing person case from 19 years ago in Fethiye, Muğla. The Fethiye Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated a study aimed at clarifying unsolved cases. The Muğla Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch and the Fethiye District Police Department teams have reopened the case regarding the disappearance of Yasemin Dermenci, who was 17 years old at the time and went missing in 2006.

THEY KILLED HER AND BURIED HER IN A FORESTED AREA

In statements taken last year regarding a different missing person case, it was revealed that Dermenci was killed with a rifle in 2006 and buried. Following this information, the teams initiated technical and physical surveillance. As a result of the investigation, Tursun Karabulut (40) and Ömer Dalbudak (44), who were identified as involved in the incident, were captured last Wednesday.

THEY CONFESSED TO THE MURDER

In his statement, Tursun Karabulut confessed that he killed Yasemin due to her relationship with his then-wife and that he buried her in a forested area with the help of Ömer Dalbudak. During the excavation in the area of the forest indicated by Tursun Karabulut, human bones believed to belong to Yasemin Dermenci were found. A DNA investigation has been initiated regarding the bones.

THEY WERE ARRESTED

After their procedures at the police station, Tursun Karabulut and Ömer Dalbudak were referred to the courthouse and arrested.
