Negotiations for wage increases for 600,000 public workers in Turkey begin today. The Turkish Heavy Industry and Service Sector Public Employers' Union (TÜHİS), representing the employer side, and the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (TÜRK-İŞ) and the Confederation of Turkish Labor Unions (HAK-İŞ), representing the workers, will come together under the framework of the Public Collective Labor Agreement Protocol.

Within the framework of the Public Collective Labor Agreements Protocol, which will determine the wage increase for public sector workers, the Turkish Heavy Industry and Service Sector Public Employers' Union (TÜHİS), representing the employer side, and the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (TÜRK-İŞ) and the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (HAK-İŞ), representing the worker side, will come together.
The negotiations for public collective labor agreements, which cover workers in public institutions including highways, railways, electricity generation plants, ministries, universities, and hospitals, are ongoing.
In the negotiations, which began with TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ presenting a joint wage demand to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on February 27, a large portion of the administrative articles have been negotiated. Within the framework of the negotiations, the worker side has requested that the daily minimum wage be raised to 1,800 lira, and after this increase, a 50% raise for the first 6 months of 2025 and a 25% raise for the other 6-month periods, along with a 10% welfare share.
THE MEETING WILL BE HOSTED BY TÜHİS
The Turkish Heavy Industry and Service Sector Public Employers' Union (TÜHİS), which is addressing the demands of the worker side, will meet with the worker representatives tomorrow. The parties will hold their first meeting at 14:00 tomorrow at the TÜHİS General Headquarters, representing the employer side.
THE EMPLOYER SIDE IS EXPECTED TO PRESENT ITS INITIAL OFFER TO THE WORKER SIDE
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated before the AK Party group meeting, "Offers have come from TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ. We are currently in the evaluation process. Hopefully, we will come together and find a common ground."
