Three people were killed and five others wounded late Sunday as a truck carrying farming workers crashed into a wall in Turkish capital Ankara.
According to local sources, the accident took place in Cayirhan neighborhood of in Nallihan district -- 160 km northwest of city center -- when the brakes of the truck failed while the workers were disembarking from the cargo area.
The truck began to slide backwards and passed over the refuge on D140 main road, stopping only after it crashed into a retaining wall of a gas station.
Three of the workers were killed as they fell to the ground off the cargo and were run over by the truck.
The five wounded including the driver were transferred to Beypazari State Hospital while the dead were taken to Nallihan State Hospital's mortuary for autopsy. - Ankara
