Tickets For 24Th Edition Of Akbank Jazz Festival Sold Out

Tickets for numerous concerts as part of the ongoing Akbank Jazz Festival in İstanbul are sold out, organizers announced in a press release this week.

The 24th edition of the Akbank Jazz Festival got under way on Thursday, kicking off a series of performances by nearly 300 musicians in different venues across İstanbul until Nov. 2.

Tickets for the concerts by British jazz-pop singer Jamie Cullum, who is going to perform at the Zorlu Center Performing Arts Center (PSM) on Oct. 30, and Christian McBride and his ensemble, scheduled to grace the stage at the Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall as part of McBride's ongoing tour to promote his latest album “Out Here,” sold out immediately.

China Moses, the daughter of Dee Dee Bridgewater, one of the performers on the first day of the festival, also jazzed up the audience in a sold-out concert. She was one of the highlights of the festival, which is also going to host other stars of the world jazz scene, including Australian electronica musician Chet Faker and Beirut-born, France-based trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf as well as American jazz pianist Kenny Barron and English double bassist Dave Holland.

Tickets for Italian pianist Claudio Filippini's trio; Obara International, featuring Maciej Obara on alto saxophone, Dominik Wania on piano, Ole Morten Vagan on bass and Gard Nilssen on drums; Turkish guitarist Sarp Maden and saxophonist Engin Recepoğulları's trio were also sold out.
