Geological studies conducted in Hunan Province, China, have revealed a massive underground deposit that is estimated to contain more than a thousand tons of gold deep within the earth. The economic size of the potential reserves identified in the Wangu gold field is expressed in trillions of lira, while officials emphasized that further research is necessary for precise figures.
Geological studies conducted in Hunan Province, China, have led to a major discovery that has captured global attention. Teams from the Hunan Provincial Geological Bureau have assessed that more than a thousand tons of gold may be found deep within the earth at the Wangu gold field. The estimated value is stated to be around 600 billion yuan, equivalent to 3.7 trillion Turkish Lira.
DRILLING OF TENS OF THOUSANDS OF METERS
As part of long-term efforts, drilling has reached tens of thousands of meters, and advanced 3D modeling techniques have been used to analyze underground structures. Initial findings indicate the presence of high-potential mineralization in the field, while it has been noted that more comprehensive measurements are needed to clarify the true size of the reserve.
MORE THAN 40 GOLD VEINS IDENTIFIED
According to current data, more than 40 gold veins have been identified at a depth of approximately 2,000 meters. Geologists predict that mineralization may extend up to 3,000 meters.
NOTABLE TENOR IN A SINGLE SAMPLE: 138 GRAMS PER TON
It has been reported that visible gold traces were found in some rock samples examined during field studies. Experts stated that a remarkably high gold tenor of 138 grams per ton was measured in a single section. However, it was emphasized that such localized high values do not necessarily mean that the entire deposit is economically viable at the same level.
COST INCREASES WITH DEPTH
Experts pointed out that not only tenor but also the thickness, continuity of veins, and extraction conditions are decisive in the operability of a mine. It was emphasized that as depth increases, heat, water pressure, ventilation, and production costs rise significantly.
THE REGION WAS ALREADY KNOWN FOR ITS GOLD POTENTIAL
It was noted that the northeastern Hunan region, where the Wangu gold field is located, is considered one of China's most important gold belts. Even before this latest discovery, it was known that the total gold resources in the area exceeded 315 tons.
