As the death toll in the protests that have been ongoing in Iran for 12 days rises to 42, statements that will pour gasoline on the fire continue to come from the US and Israel. US President Trump stated that if people are killed in the ongoing demonstrations in Iran, Washington will "hit Iran very hard."
US President Donald Trump, who participated in "The Hugh Hewitt Show," made evaluations regarding current issues.
Regarding the protests that have been ongoing in Iran for 12 days, Trump stated that very large crowds have formed during the demonstrations and that there have been stampedes.
"IRAN WILL PAY HEAVY PRICES"
Trump expressed that people have lost their lives in the protests, but he is not sure whether the responsibility can be placed on one side, stating that if such actions continue, Iran will pay heavy prices.
"WE WILL HIT VERY HARD IF THEY DO THIS"
President Trump said, "They are in a very bad situation. I also conveyed this to them: If they start killing people, which they tend to do during their uprisings, they frequently incite riots, if they do this, we will hit them (Iran) very hard."
PROTESTS IN IRAN
The protests that began on December 28, 2025, by shopkeepers in the Tehran Grand Bazaar due to the high depreciation of the local currency against foreign exchange rates and economic problems spread to many cities in the country. The Tasnim News Agency reported that the number of police injured in the protests has risen to 568 and the militia force (Basij) to 66.
US President Donald Trump, in his statements regarding the protests in Iran, said that if the protesters are killed, the US will rush to help and deliver a severe blow to the Tehran administration. In a statement made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on January 5, it was announced that there would be no tolerance for the demonstrators.
