U.S. President Donald Trump, in his speech at the U.S. Department of State's Kennedy Center Honor Medal Ceremony, made remarks regarding the fight against drugs.
"DRUGS HAVE DECREASED BY 94%"
Pointing out that the amount of drugs entering the country by sea has decreased by 94% following the operations they initiated in the Caribbean, Trump stated, "I am also trying to solve the remaining 6% because they (the traffickers) are, in my estimation, very brave people."

Indicating that they will soon initiate land operations, Trump said, "We know every route, every house, where they live. We know everything about them."
ATTENTION-GRABBING MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also announced at an event he attended in California that attacks on ships for the fight against drugs will continue. Stating that they are very focused on the fight against drugs, Hegseth said, "If you are working for a terrorist organization and bringing drugs to our country by ship, we will find you and sink you, make no mistake about it." Hegseth emphasized that the U.S. is focused on combating cartels in the Western Hemisphere and will continue operations against ships until the end.
TRUMP'S EXECUTIVE ORDER
U.S. President Trump, with the executive order he signed, instructed the military to be used more and effectively in the fight against drug cartels of Latin American origin. In this context, the U.S. sent a naval force consisting of submarines and warships to the waters off Venezuela at the end of August, and Secretary of Defense Hegseth stated that the U.S. military is ready for operations, including regime change in Venezuela.
The recent attacks by the U.S. military on some boats in the Caribbean region and the Pacific Ocean, under the pretext of drug trafficking, and directly targeting the people on board, have sparked discussions in the international community about "extrajudicial killings."
