A British national who crossed into Turkey from Syria has been arrested, security sources said Thursday.
Cabdiwahb Cige Moxamed, who is said to be of African origin, allegedly participated in clashes in Syria.
Authorities began following Moxamed's movements in Turkey's Izmir province after going there from Hatay province and eventually arrested him, the security sources added.
Authorities believe the suspect was trying to move to Europe. He was found with an alleged fake Syrian identity card that had the name Mustafa Halid on it.
Judicial authorities charged the suspect for forgery of documents on Jan.28, the sources added.
