Turkey Does Not Recognize Annexation Of Crimea, Reiterates Davutoğlu

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu on the sidelines of World Economic Forum on Thursday in Davos, Switzerland. According to statement released by press office of Ukrainian Presidency, Davutoğlu stressed that Turkey does not recognize annexation of Crimea saying Turkey supports sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. “Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine is not only significant for you [Ukraine], but also it is significant for the whole world.” said Davutoğlu. He also called for a joint effort to sustain regional security of the Black Sea, which can be ensured with the stability of Ukraine. During the meeting, Poroshenko stated that Crimean Tatars are under a big pressure and they need support from Turkey and Davutoğlu pledged to keep Crimean issue on the agenda.
