Turkey Says Ukraine Talks 'Positive'

Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said the agreement reached at the talks in Geneva, between Russia, Ukraine, U.S. and the EU, aimed at de-escalating tensions in Ukraine was "positive" and that Turkey continues to follow the developments closely.



"It is an important step that both Russia and Ukraine have agreed on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Special Monitoring Mission's role to de-escalate tension," Davutoglu told a joint press conference Friday with his Albanian counterpart Ditmir Bushati. 



He added that Turkey was ready to take every step needed to contribute to the solution of the Ukraine crisis and would support any initiatives.



Moving on to domestic affairs, Davutoglu, when asked whether there were any concrete findings concerning the investigation into the leaked recordings of a high-level security meeting of Turkish officials on Syria said "the authorities are conducting a very serious and meticulous investigation."



"We need to wait until the investigation has been concluded and an official statement is made," he added.



Additionally, it was announced that a cooperation agreement on information technologies was signed between Turkey and Albania in the presence of Davutoglu and his Albanian counterpart Bushati before the conference. 



Davutoglu said Turkey will continue to boost its relations in every field with Albania, while Bushati said improved relations would contribute to regional peace and called for more Turkish investment in Albania.
