Turkey's Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek has taken to Twitter to defend the energy price hike due to hit the country next month.
On Tuesday, the Energy Ministry announced a nine percent rise in the price of electricity and natural gas.
Simsek tweeted that, despite the rise, Turkey faces lower natural gas prices than any EU country, and the fourth lowest electricity price. He added that the last price rise was two years ago.
