Turkish President Met Members Of Supreme Military Council At Luncheon

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met the members of Supreme Military Council at the luncheon given in presidential palace in Ankara.

Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) has begun in Çakmak Hall of Turkish General Staff Headquarters building in Turkish capital city of Ankara.

Council meeting, which is being presided over by Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, also attended by National Defense Minister Vecdi Gönül, Chief of General Staff Necdet Özel, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces General Hulusi Akar, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces Admiral Bülent Bostanoğlu, Commander of the Turkish Air Forces General Akın Öztür, Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces Abdullah Atay and Deputy Chief of Turkish General Staff Yaşar Gürel and high level YAŞ commanders.

During the meeting, the promotions of colonels, general and admirals, extension of the tenure of the general and admirals, retirement of general and admirals and the condition the those military personnel who will be fired from army due to the indiscipline behaviors and moral will be negotiated during the YAŞ meeting.

Meanwhile, changes from the command echelon will be held during the convention.

The duration of the tenure of Turkish General Chief of Staff General Necdet Özel, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces, Commander of the Turkish Air Forces and Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces will end after YAS meeting.
