President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's meeting with rescued Mosul consulate staff and the rescue details including the negotiations with the extremist group are covered by almost all Turkish press on Monday.



'Diplomatic Bargain' is the headline in the daily VATAN, referring to remarks made by Erdogan on how Turkey bargained with the extremist group to rescue the hostages. The daily "ed Erdogan as saying, "A financial bargain with the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant was totally out of the question. But the owners of these claims mention a political, diplomatic bargain, yes this is true." 



The daily SABAH reports Erdogan's comments on how Turkey got through a challenging period and on hailing the rescue operation as historic.



The daily also added that Erdogan said: "We could have given an immediate favorable response to international coalition demands, but we could not have said that, because we had 49 lives held hostage." Turkey refrained from signing a treaty in Saudi Arabia on September 11 aiming to gather states for a coordinated campaign with a military dimension against ISIL. Ten Arab countries, including the Gulf Cooperation Council states, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon, plus the U.S., signed a treaty agreeing to coordinate efforts to fight the militants.



Some other dailies cover the thousands of Syrians rushing to the Turkish border after ISIL fighters captured some Kurdish villages in northern Syria.



'One more thousand to come' is the headline in the daily MILLIYET, which says Turkish government authorities and UNHCR are preparing for the possibility of hundreds of thousands more refugees arriving over the coming days.



The daily also said the Syrians that have arrived in the Turkish province of Sanliurfa are lining up to buy bus tickets to find their relatives in other Turkish cities such as Istanbul, Ankara and Mersin.



Syrians have arrived in the Turkish province of Sanliurfa in massive numbers after ISIL's recent attacks and the siege of Kobani, which hosts nearly 200,000 internally displaced people mainly from Syria's Kurdish minority. ISIL continues to clash with forces of pro-Kurdish Democratic Union Party in Tell Abyad and Kobani.



The refugees, including women and children, are crossing the border by firstly entering a coordination center set up by the Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency in Sanliurfa's Suruc district. They undergo a medical examination and are then registered. 



Daily HURRIYET reported that they have managed to enter the 'ghost town of Kobani' after ISIL militants surrounded the city and forced civilians to flee. The daily said the Syrians in the border town of Kobani are waiting with their guns behind sandbags in the streets.
