Traditional Turkish delicacy simit, a ring of chewy bread coated with toasted sesame seeds, continues to attract more customers in New York. Simit is not only consumed by Turkish expats living in the city but also large numbers of people from many nationalities with simit shops under brand of Simit&Smith.

Traditional Turkish delicacy simit, a ring of chewy bread coated with toasted sesame seeds, continues to attract more customers in New York.

Simit is not only consumed by Turkish expats living in the city but also large numbers of people from many nationalities with simit shops under brand of Simit&Smith. CEO of the Simit&Smith stated that they are planning to open sixth shop in the city due to growing interest of the people.

Speaking to Cihan news agency, a Turkish expat named Zafer Sevimçok said he had been looking for such a shop for years as a Turk who has been living in New York for 14 years. “We are grown up with simit. Like me, many people are very happy to have such a place. I thank to people who made this investment here,” said Sevimçok.

Another customer named Melanie Rohn said she has tasted simit for the first time and liked it a lot. “We entered this shop to taste sşmit although it was quite crowded. I have eaten three pieces. It was delicious. I suggest the one who has nıt tasted before”.
