Turkish Stock Exchange Up 3.1% At Close

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,079.97 points, up by 3.1% from the previous close.


The BIST 100 index, which started the day at 8,863.66 points, earned 273.25 points from the midweek's close.


The lowest value of the index for the day was 8,863.66, while its daily high was 9,079.97.

Some 80 indices increased in value, while 19 declined as of the end of the day.

The total transaction volume reached 96 billion Turkish liras ($2.98 billion), while the overall value of the index was 7.74 trillion liras ($240.6 billion).



The USD/TRY exchange rate was 32.3310 as of 7.20 p.m. (1620GMT), while the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.1099 and the GBP/TRY traded at 40.8460.

An ounce of gold was at $2,215.50, while a barrel price of Brent oil was around $87.15. -
