Uae Refers Killer Of US Teacher To Court

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday referred a woman suspected of killing a U.S. teacher to court.



Alaa Bader Abdullah is accused of stabbing to death teacher Ibolya Ryan in a shopping mall restroom in Abu Dhabi in December.



UAE Attorney General Salem Saeed Kubaish said in a statement that the suspect has been referred to court to answer charges of murdering the U.S. teacher and attempting to kill others by planning to blow up a bomb, the official news agency reported.



CCTV footage has showed a suspect wearing a niqab (Islamic face-veil) entering the shopping mall minutes before the killing of the U.S. teacher.



The suspect also faces charges of donating funds to Al-Qaeda "with the aim of financing terrorist organizations in the UAE," Kubaish said.



She is also charged with collecting explosive materials and creating an Internet account to promote the "ideas of a terrorist group".
