At least 25 workers were killed on Tuesday when a massive fire tore through an eastern district of Egyptian capital Cairo, according to a Health Ministry spokesman.
"Another 22 people were injured in the fire, which gutted a timber factory in eastern Cairo's Al-Obour City," ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar told Anadolu Agency.
The spokesman added that civil defense personnel and firefighters had since managed to extinguish the blaze.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire began after a gas cylinder exploded as it was being carried by workers. - Mısır
