Arab countries on Saturday denounced a PKK terrorist attack that martyred nearly a dozen police officers in southeastern Turkey's town of Cizre.

At least 11 officers were martyred on Friday when PKK terrorists detonated a truck bomb near a security checkpoint in the town.

Officials said the blast also injured 75 police officers and three civilians.

Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a note of condolence to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in which he strongly condemned the terrorist attack targeting "innocent people" and contradicts with "all humanitarian values and doctrines of divine religions".

Al-Sabah said Kuwait stands with Turkey and the international community in the fight against terrorism, according to Kuwait's official news agency KUNA.

Qatar's Foreign Ministry termed the attack as an "evil, criminal act".

"We reiterate our solidarity with Turkey in all measures taken to tackle these criminal acts and maintain the country's security and stability," the ministry said in a statement cited by the official QNA news agency.

In a statement, Egypt's Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and offered condolences to families of the victims.

Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said "the Egyptian people stand by the Turkish people in their battle against terrorism."

Yemen's foreign ministry also condemned the attack, according to the country's official news agency SABA.

"We support all kind of efforts and measures to fight with these terrorist attacks which target the security and stability in Turkey," it said in a statement. -
