Update - Suspicious Envelope Scare İn Ankara

An apparently suspicious envelope found Thursday at the Norwegian Embassy in Ankara turned out not to be dangerous, authorities said.



The Prime Ministry's Disaster Relief Agency said the envelope sent to the Norwegian Embassy contained only newspapers.



Another unusual letter was spotted earlier Thursday in Turkey's Foreign Ministry with excess glue on the envelope making it seem suspicious.



The letter was spotted in the mail department.



Teams from the Security General Directorate, the National Intelligence Service and the Prime Ministry's Disaster Relief Agency arrived at the headquarters immediately. The Disaster Relief Agency removed the envelope, employing various security measures.



Seven tests have been performed on the letter and no dangerous substances have been found. The Foreign Ministry is expected to release a statement soon.



Since last week, several consulates in Istanbul -- Canadian, U.S., Belgian, German and Hungarian consulates -- have received letters with yellow powder on them.



The health ministry's decontamination teams have cleared the consulates.
