U.S. coalition forces conducted 61 airstrikes against ISIL targets in the past three days, the Combined Joint Task Force said Wednesday.
In Syria, "Five airstrikes near Kobani destroyed an ISIL building, a staging area, a bunker, and a mortar and struck two ISIL tactical units, two additional buildings and two ISIL fighting positions," the statement said.
There were 8 other airstrikes in Iraq near Mosul, Tal-Afa, Sinjar, Rawa, Ramadi, Irbil.
An additional 45 strikes were conducted in support of peshmerga and Iraqi security forces operating in the region.
The U.S. is leading an international coalition which includes France, Germany and Saudi Arabia, and has carried out more than 1,200 air strikes against ISIL in Iraq and Syria since operations began in August, according to the task force.
