US Vice President Joe Biden, who is currently on a visit to Turkey, paid a visit on Sunday to the Fener Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, located in İstanbul's Balat quarter, under strict security measures.
Biden arrived at the patriarchate at about 11:45 a.m. on Sunday and met with Ecumenical Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew during his visit.
Turkish security forces took tight security measures in the neighborhood before Biden arrived, blocking civilians and journalists from entering the street where the patriarchate is located.
