Vietnam, Philippines To Set Up Strategic Partnership In November

Vietnam and the Philippines are expected to close a strategic partnership agreement in November, local online newspaper Tuoi Tre (Youth) News on Saturday quoted a Vietnamese diplomat as saying.
The two countries will foster their bilateral cooperation to deal with regional and international issues of mutual concerns, including the South China Sea issue, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Truong Trieu Duong told Tuoi Tre, citing the draft text of the agreement.
The strategic partnership would likely be signed during the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, scheduled to be held on Nov. 18-19 in Manila, Philippines, according to the report. (Cihan/Xinhua)
