Starting from Wednesday late hours, heavy snowfall coupling with cold weather have led to the closure of numerous of village roads in eastern Turkish province of Erzurum and caused dangerous driving conditions across the province.
A total of 50 village roads in Erzurum and other eastern Turkish provinces have closed completely since last night. Municipalities mobilized their personnel to salt the roads and clear off the snow.
The current in depth of snow recorded as 15 centimeters in Mount Palandöken and 20 centimeters around Konaklı skiing facilities while the lowest recorded temperature was -2 Celsius.
