In the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa, a farmer found a 155-millimeter unexploded shell caught in the plow of his tractor while working in his field. Gendarmerie and security teams were dispatched to the scene to neutralize the ammunition.
A farmer in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa found a 155-millimeter unexploded artillery shell while plowing his field.
The incident occurred in the Yoğunca neighborhood of the district. According to the information obtained, a citizen named İ.B. noticed an object caught in the tractor plow while working on his land located near the Batman Dörtyol Oil Pipeline.
UNEXPLODED ARTILLERY SHELL FOUND IN HIS FIELD
Upon examining the object, the farmer realized it was an unexploded munition and reported the situation to the gendarmerie teams. Following the report, gendarmerie and security teams were dispatched to the area. While necessary security measures were taken at the scene, it was determined during the examination that the object was a 155-millimeter artillery shell.
A Bomb Disposal Team (PAMİT) was called to the scene for the disposal of the potentially dangerous munition. The teams detonated the artillery shell in a controlled manner to dispose of it. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
