Recently, the global decline in Brent crude oil prices and fluctuations in exchange rates have been reflected as a decrease in fuel prices in Turkey. However, Brent crude oil prices have started to rise again in international markets. As a result, there is an expectation of an increase in gasoline and diesel prices.

Brent crude oil prices and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates cause changes in current gasoline, diesel, and LPG (fuel) prices. Therefore, changes in Brent crude oil prices are reflected as increases or decreases in fuel prices.
After Brent crude oil prices fell below $70 for the first time in a long time last week, consecutive discount news for fuel emerged. Following a 1 lira 15 kuruş discount on gasoline on March 4, an additional discount of 2 lira 6 kuruş on gasoline was implemented on March 7. Additionally, starting from March 8, a discount of 1 lira 35 kuruş was applied to diesel prices.
BRENT CRUDE OIL ABOVE $70 AGAIN
Although Brent crude oil started today above $70, it has recently pulled back to $69.95. While it seems unlikely that these figures will cause a change in fuel prices, the markets are focused on the latest comment from Commerzbank.
COMMERZBANK EXPECTS RISE IN OIL PRICES
Commerzbank expects a rise in oil prices after the second quarter due to reduced oil supply led by the impact of U.S. sanctions on Iran. Commerzbank anticipates an increase in oil prices. It is projected that Brent crude oil will be $70 in the first quarter of the year and $75 in the second quarter. This comment from the bank has led to expectations of fuel price increases domestically.
