Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky drew attention with his appearance during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Zelensky, who has not attended any official meetings in a suit, including with U.S. President Donald Trump, made a statement by wearing a black blazer over a black shirt. It was claimed that Merz's decision to lift the missile range limit for Ukraine influenced this move.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Berlin. The two discussed the latest situation in the Ukraine-Russia war and military support.
A BIG SURPRISE FROM ZELENSKY
While the meeting itself was not a surprise, Zelensky's appearance was unexpected. The Ukrainian President, who has never attended any official meetings in a suit, including his meeting with US President Donald Trump, shook Merz's hand in a suit.
REMOVAL OF MISSILE RANGE LIMIT
Wearing a black blazer over a black shirt, Zelensky still opted for sneakers instead of dress shoes. Despite Donald Trump's special request for him to wear a suit, Zelensky's dressing for Merz was attributed by users to "mutual respect." It was also claimed that Merz's removal of the missile range limit for Ukraine played a role.
UKRAINE'S WEAPONS TO BE PRODUCED IN GERMANY
Merz, who held a press conference with Zelensky, stated that weapons for the war against Russia would be produced in Germany and Ukraine, and that there would be no restrictions on range. Merz said, "We want to make long-range weapons possible for Ukraine. We want to enable joint production. We will not share the details with the public, but we will intensify cooperation."
Zelensky stated that they agreed with Germany on weapon production in Ukraine, including drones. He reported that agreements were signed between Ukrainian and German officials for the construction and development of production facilities. Zelensky said, "These new projects already exist. We just want them to be in the quantities we need." Zelensky's visit to Berlin came after Ukraine and Russia held face-to-face negotiations earlier this month.
