Another notable development occurred in the "corruption" and "bid rigging" investigation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Within the scope of the operation against IBB subsidiary Peyzaj ve Ağaç A.Ş., 24 suspects taken into custody were referred to the courthouse; 12 of the individuals sent to the court by the prosecutor's office with a request for arrest were detained, while 12 others were released under judicial control conditions.
A new development occurred in the Peyzaj ve Ağaç A.Ş. operation conducted within the scope of the additional investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Of the 24 suspects referred to the courthouse, 12 were arrested, while 12 were released under judicial supervision.
ARREST DEMAND FOR 20 PEOPLE
The prosecutor's office procedures for the suspects detained in the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have been completed. The prosecutor's office decided to refer 20 suspects to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for their arrest.
Following the judge's evaluation, arrest warrants were issued for 12 people, while the other 12 suspects were released under judicial supervision measures.
THE NAME GRANTED FUNERAL LEAVE WAS ALSO ON THE LIST
Notable individuals were also among those for whom judicial supervision was requested. Yasin Çağatay Seçkin, who lost his father the day before the operation and was granted funeral leave, as well as Fatih Yağcı, Alkan Başçiftçi, and Ekrem Ofluoğlu, who were released last month within the scope of the same investigation, were among those released.
STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE ON "CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION"
In a statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the investigation is being conducted within the scope of "the activities of the criminal organization led by Ekrem İmamoğlu."
The statement indicated that the operation was carried out based on allegations that the organization rigged tenders by establishing a "fictitious tender system" through Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş., a subsidiary of IMM.
DETENTION ORDER FOR 31 SUSPECTS
It was announced that detention orders were issued for a total of 31 suspects within the scope of the investigation, and 29 of them were apprehended. It was noted that one suspect is abroad, and efforts to capture the fugitive suspect are ongoing.
Judicial supervision decisions had also been made for some suspects previously referred to the courthouse within the scope of the operation.
DETAINED AT THE AIRPORT
It was learned that Orhan Yıldırım, who had a warrant for his arrest in the investigation, was detained at the airport while returning to Turkey from abroad. The suspect was reported to have been taken to the police station for processing.
