An operation was carried out in 11 provinces centered in Adana against the armed criminal organization Yıkamacılar. During the operation, 106 suspects were detained, including Tolga Hoşgökdelen, who is alleged to be the ringleader of the organization. Of the suspects brought before the courthouse, 73, including Hoşgökdelen, were arrested, while 33 were released under judicial control conditions. Weapons and drugs were seized in the operation, and 2 real estate properties and 12 vehicles assessed to have been obtained from crime were also confiscated.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, after 16 months of surveillance, an operation was carried out against the “Washers” armed crime organization. During the operation, simultaneous raids were conducted on 120 addresses.
THEY WERE FOLLOWED FOR 16 MONTHS
Under the coordination of the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an investigation was launched into the “Washers” armed crime organization. Teams of the Provincial Police Department placed the suspects under technical and physical surveillance for 16 months.
In their work, the teams identified 117 suspects who were assessed to have been involved in 32 separate incidents. The suspects were alleged to have been involved in crimes such as “forming an organization with the aim of committing a crime,” “attempted intentional homicide,” “intentional injury,” “drug trafficking to provide financing to the organization,” “armed threat,” “damage to property,” and “aggravated robbery.”
SIMULTANEOUS RAID ON 120 ADDRESSES IN 11 PROVINCES
On October 6, the teams carried out simultaneous raids on 120 identified addresses in Adana as well as Mersin, Antalya, Istanbul, Izmir, Düzce, Balıkesir, Karabük, Bolu, Sakarya, and Afyonkarahisar. During the operation, 106 suspects were detained, including Tolga Hoşgökdelen, who is alleged to be the ringleader of the organization.
WEAPONS, DRUGS, AND BULLETPROOF VESTS SEIZED
During searches at the suspects' addresses, 14 unlicensed handguns, 4 unlicensed shotguns, 402 bullets, and 3 bulletproof vests were found. Additionally, 390 cannabis plants, 1,403 narcotic pills, 479.67 grams of marijuana, 347.3 grams of bonsai, 3.2 grams of amphetamine, 1.29 grams of cocaine, 2 marijuana grinders, and 2 precision scales were seized.
REAL ESTATE AND VEHICLES SEIZED
Within the scope of the operation, 2 real estate properties valued at 20 million 500 thousand lira and 12 vehicles valued at 7 million 275 lira, which are considered to have been obtained from crime, were seized.
73 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
After their procedures at the police station, among the suspects sent to the courthouse, 73 people—including Tolga Hoşgökdelen—were arrested by the court to which they were brought. 33 suspects were released under judicial control conditions.
