In the Akhisar district of Manisa, the driver of the tour bus involved in the accident in which 11 people lost their lives and 27 people were injured, along with the truck driver, were taken into custody. The moments when the bus picked up passengers in the Osmangazi district of Bursa hours before the accident and departed at 06:31 were captured on security camera. Meanwhile, it was learned that the bus was going to hot springs in Denizli.
As part of the investigation into the accident in Akhisar, the drivers of the two vehicles involved in the accident were detained. Footage of the tour bus departing from Bursa has also emerged. It was learned that the bus was going to the thermal springs in Denizli.
2 DRIVERS DETAINED
As part of the investigation launched into the accident, it was learned that the driver of the tour bus with license plate 16 AED 124, M.Y., and the driver of the truck with license plate 78 YD 559 were detained. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
PICKED UP PASSENGERS AT 06:30 IN THE MORNING
Security camera footage from a workplace in the Osmangazi district of Bursa captured the moments when the tour bus picked up passengers around 06:30. In the footage, the bus driver was also seen arriving at the workplace and shaking hands with the employees. According to the records, the bus departed at 06:31.
THEY WERE HEADED TO THE THERMAL SPRINGS
It was learned that the tour bus belonging to My World Tur had set off from Bursa to go to the thermal springs in Denizli.
BUS OVERTURNED, TRUCK LEFT THE ROAD
The accident occurred at around 11:11 on the Izmir direction of the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Highway, at the Akhisar Toll Booths location near Ballıca Neighborhood in Akhisar district. In the accident, in which the tour bus and the truck collided, the bus overturned and the truck left the road. The impact of the collision threw the passengers on the bus around.
Upon notification, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality fire crews, ambulances, AFAD, and highway gendarmerie traffic teams were dispatched to the area. The injured people trapped in the vehicles were extricated by the fire crews. The injured were taken by ambulances to hospitals in Akhisar and Manisa.

According to a statement by the Manisa Governor's Office, 11 people died and 27 people were injured in the accident. The governor's office statement included the words, "We wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the accident, and a speedy recovery to our injured."
