2 Killed, Dozens Injured In Czech Train Collusion

Two people died and dozens were injured on Wednesday when two trains collided in the western Czech Republic.

"At the moment, 31 people whose lives are not in danger are being treated, seven people are in a critical state, and two are dead," said Maria Svobodova, spokesperson for Plzen region rescue teams.

The national police on Twitter confirmed the deaths of at two least people.

Police said the accident occurred in the village of Miravche in the western Plzen region shortly after 8 a.m. local time (0600GMT).

In the accident, the Munich to Prague Ex 351 train collided with a regional commuter train working between the Czech towns of Plzen and Domazlice, said Transport Minister Karel Havlicek.

"The Ex 351 did not respect a signal and crashed into the regional train," he said.
