2 Terrorists Neutralized İn Eastern Turkey

Turkish security forces neutralized two PKK terrorists in an air-supported operation in the eastern Van province, officials said Wednesday.



Turkish authorities often use "neutralized" in statements to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.



The Provincial Gendarmerie Command carried out the air-supported operation in rural areas of the Catak district, said an Interior Ministry statement.



With the two terrorists neutralized, the operation continues, it added.



In its 30-year terrorist campaign, the PKK -- recognized as a terrorist group by the U.S., the EU, and Turkey -- has taken some 40,000 lives, including women and children. -
