Turkish security forces have convinced two more PKK terrorists to lay down arms, according to local authorities on Monday.
The terrorists were active in rural areas, with one of them having joined the terror group 28 years ago and the other 22 years ago, the Governor's Office of the southeastern Siirt province said in a statement.
They surrendered to the security forces at the Habur Border Gate with Iraq in the southeastern Sirnak province, it added, stressing that efforts to convince terrorists to surrender continued resolutely.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
