Pakistani army jets continued to pound militant hideouts for a second consecutive day Thursday in the tribal region of Khyber, killing 20 suspected militants.
The Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations, the Pakistani army's media wing, said in a statement that five militant hideouts of the Taliban-affiliated Lashkar-e-Islam group were also destroyed in fresh bombardment.
Eight troops and 20 militants were killed in deadly clashes in the Khyber region Wednesday.
The army launched Operation Khyber-1 in the restive tribal region in mid-October.
The operation has killed over 100 suspected militants so far.
