Following the discovery of the lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing 19 days ago in Diyarbakır, the investigation has been intensified. As part of the investigation, 24 individuals have been detained. It has been revealed that among those detained are the mother, father, siblings, and relatives.

After the lifeless body of Narin Güran was found in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, 21 people were detained.

NARIN'S LIFELESS BODY FOUND

Sad news came from Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, where Narin Güran went missing on August 21. The lifeless body of the little girl was found by gendarmerie teams in Eğertutmaz Stream near the village. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the development on his social media account, saying, "Unfortunately, the lifeless body of our Narin girl, who went missing in Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, was found by our gendarmerie teams. I pray to Allah for mercy for Narin girl. May she rest in peace. Our condolences."

21 PEOPLE DETAINED

After the discovery of Narin's lifeless body, a new development occurred. 21 people were detained as part of the ongoing investigation.

"PUT INTO A SACK AND BROUGHT TO THE STREAM"

Diyarbakır Governor Zorluoğlu provided details about the incident, saying, "It has been determined that she was put into a sack after being killed, brought to the edge of the stream, placed in the water, and covered with tree branches and stones to avoid suspicion and create a natural appearance."

AREA SEARCHED 8 TIMES

During the search for Narin Güran, the special teams from Diyarbakır and the special team from Ankara worked in coordination. The surroundings of the neighborhood were searched 8 times in the operations conducted by the teams. However, no trace of Narin was found.

HER BROTHER WAS INITIALLY DETAINED

The first person to be detained in connection with the disappearance of 8-year-old Narin was her brother, but he was released shortly afterwards. The brother, who was 18 years old, was detained due to bite marks on his arm. Jaw structure samples obtained from Narin's photos were sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for comparison. However, no evidence was obtained regarding the ownership of the bite mark. Therefore, the brother was released.

NARIN'S AUNT WAS ARRESTED

On the 11th day of the search for missing Narin, news of a new detention came. Narin's aunt and also the muhtar (village head) of Tavşantepe neighborhood, Salim Güran, was detained. Salim Güran was arrested by the court. The reasons for his arrest were stated as deprivation of liberty and intentional killing.

WHY WAS UNCLE SALIM GÜRAN ARRESTED?

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç made a statement regarding the arrest of uncle Salim Güran. Minister Tunç stated, "All state institutions have mobilized. Statements are being taken, and detentions are being made based on those statements. There are DNA tests. The arrest warrant was issued due to the match between the DNA of Narin's parents in the car and the DNA of the uncle."

"ARREST IS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE"

Minister Tunç emphasized that the arrest is a precautionary measure and said, "When there is suspicion of a crime, it is up to the judge to decide on the arrest." Minister Tunç stated the following; "A determination was made regarding the marks on her brother's body, but it could not be determined to whom those bruises belong. All these issues will be evaluated by our judiciary down to the finest detail."

WHAT HAPPENED?

On August 21, when Narin Güran went to a Quran course in Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district, she did not return home, so her family searched for her on their own. When the search was unsuccessful, Narin's father, Arif Güran, reported that his daughter was missing around 20:00 on the same day. As a result, numerous search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area, and searches were conducted in houses in the neighborhood and vehicles entering the village.

While the search was ongoing, Narin Güran's brother, E.G. (18), was detained due to bite marks on his arm. After the examination at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute, when it could not be determined whether the bite marks belonged to Narin, E.G. was released.

Then Narin's uncle, who is also the muhtar of rural Tavşantepe neighborhood, Salim Güran, was detained. Salim Güran, whose DNA samples taken from his vehicle matched the DNA samples from Narin's clothes, was arrested for the crimes of "intentional killing" and "deprivation of liberty".

Focusing again on the previously searched areas, the teams conducted a search in Eğertutmaz Stream, which is 2 kilometers away from the neighborhood, and found Narin's lifeless body on the 19th day. It was determined that Narin was put into a sack and thrown into the stream after being killed, and her body was covered with stones.
