Danone, one of Turkey's leading beverage manufacturers, has signed an agreement to transfer the Sırma, Hayat and Akmina brands to Ceylan İşletme ve Yatırım AŞ, the owner of Ceysu. The sale, which will bring the three brands together under one roof, is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027. Following the transfer process, subject to approval by the Competition Authority, Danone Türkiye will focus its operations on nutritional products.
Danone Türkiye, one of Turkey's leading packaged water and beverage producers, has taken action to transfer its Sırma, Hayat, and Akmina brands in its portfolio.
The company has signed a binding agreement to transfer ownership of the three brands to Ceylan İşletme ve Yatırım AŞ, the owner of the Ceysu brand.
If the agreement is completed, the three brands, which reach a broad consumer base in Turkey, will operate within the same company as Ceysu.
COMPETITION AUTHORITY'S APPROVAL IS AWAITED
According to information reported by CNBC-e, the transfer process between the parties is planned to be completed in the first half of 2027.
However, for the sale to become official, the necessary legal processes, especially the approval of the Competition Authority, must be completed.
Therefore, despite the signed agreement, the transfer of ownership of the brands has not yet taken place.
SIRMA, HAYAT, AND AKMINA WILL BE GATHERED UNDER THE SAME ROOF AS CEYSU
With the completion of the agreement, the Sırma, Hayat, and Akmina brands will join the product portfolio of Ceylan İşletme ve Yatırım AŞ.
Thus, the company will include three important brands in addition to its existing Ceysu brand.
The agreement in question is expected to change the brand distribution in Turkey's packaged water and beverage sector.
