In Muğla, Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca was taken to the hospital after being wounded in the left leg in an armed attack. In the investigation launched into the incident, four suspects, including the perpetrator of the attack, were detained.
In Akarca neighborhood of Muğla's Fethiye district, around 16:00 yesterday, Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca was subjected to an armed attack by an unidentified person or persons. Karaca was injured in his left leg. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon reports from bystanders.
Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca TAKEN TO HOSPITAL Karaca, who received first aid at the scene, was taken to a private hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Karaca's condition is good. Police teams took security measures at the scene, while efforts were launched to apprehend the person or persons who carried out the attack.
4 DETAINED In connection with the armed attack, 4 suspects, including the alleged perpetrator, were detained.

Çiğdem Karaca stated that yesterday they saw a masked and gloved person around their house, saying, "Today, we went to the police to report the situation. After returning home, I went outside with my husband and son. At that moment, when we saw the suspect in a vehicle, we stopped him and notified the authorities. My husband asked the suspect who he was and why he was wearing a mask. He said he was wearing a mask because he had a fungal infection on his face. When my husband continued asking questions, he tried to flee. During the scuffle, the suspect drew his gun and tried to aim at my husband's heart. During the struggle, the bullet hit his leg. We were in great shock, we are sad," she said.
"HEALTH CONDITION IS GOOD" Surgeon Doctor Osman Kurtuluş and Orthopedics Specialist Surgeon Doctor Mustafa Eroğlu stated that Mayor Karaca's health condition is good, noting that he was injured in the upper part of his left knee, and the bullet damaged the kneecap bone causing a small fracture. It was reported that Karaca will receive antibiotic treatment for a few days, and the bullet in his leg will be removed and the fracture will be treated in a small operation on Tuesday.
The investigation into the incident continues.
