In the operation against two organized crime structures within the Göztepe fan groups 'Forza' and 'Yalı' in Izmir, 25 of the 29 suspects detained were arrested. With the re-arrest of 26 of the 27 suspects in prison, the total number of detainees rose to 51. The investigation was focused on the murder of Emircan Övüç and 8 violent acts over an 8-month period.
In the operation against two organized crime structures identified as operating within the Göztepe fan groups 'Forza' and 'Yalı' in İzmir, 25 of the 29 suspects detained were arrested. With the re-arrest of 26 of the 27 suspects already in prison within the scope of the case, the total number of detainees reached 51.
Within the scope of the investigation carried out under the coordination of the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, work was initiated following the information that there were two organized crime structures operating within the Göztepe fan groups 'Forza' and 'Yalı'. In the investigation, which was deepened after Emircan Övüç was killed with a firearm on September 19, 2025, it was determined that 8 separate violent acts occurred between the two groups within approximately 8 months. Within the scope of the investigation, 59 suspects were identified, and it was determined that 27 of them were in prison.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 4 PROVINCES In this context, a simultaneous operation was carried out in 4 provinces centered in İzmir on August 21. In the operation, 29 suspects were detained, and 3 fugitives have not yet been found. During the searches at the addresses; weapons, ammunition, narcotic pills and various elements of crime were seized. After their procedures at the police station, 1 of the 29 suspects was released after his statement. The other 28 suspects were referred to the courthouse. While 3 of the suspects brought before the court were released under judicial control, 25 were arrested.
THEY WERE BROUGHT TO COURT AGAIN 27 suspects, who were ordered to be re-detained within the scope of the investigation and are still in prison, were also referred to the courthouse after their procedures. While 1 of the suspects brought before the court was released under judicial control, 26 were re-arrested. Thus, the total number of detainees within the scope of the case increased to 51.
