Police on Friday arrested 8 PKK/KCK terror suspects for making terror propaganda on social media during a counter-terrorism operation in northwestern Turkey, according to a judicial source.
In a statement, Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Kocaeli said a counterterrorism unit of police arrested eight suspects for allegedly disrupting the anti-terror operations on social media.
The suspects were also accused of encouraging terror group members to carry out street demonstrations, the source added.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU. The group waged a terror campaign against Turkey for more than 30 years and has been responsible for the death of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children. -
