9 Turkish universities have entered the top 500 in the world.

According to the "World's Best Universities" list announced by 11 ranking organizations worldwide last year, 9 universities from Turkey were included in the top 500. According to the report, Koç, Boğaziçi, Sabancı, Çankaya, İstanbul, ODTÜ, İTÜ, Hacettepe, and Health Sciences universities managed to enter the top 500 in at least one global ranking last year.

ODTÜ University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Laboratory announced that 9 universities from Turkey were included in the top 500 in the "World's Best Universities" lists announced by 11 ranking organizations worldwide last year.

ODTÜ URAP, one of the authorized 10 organizations worldwide that rank universities, announced its report titled "The Status of Our Universities in the 11 World Rankings in 2023" on the website "https://www.urapcenter.org".

IMPRESSIVE ACHIEVEMENTS FROM TURKISH UNIVERSITIES

  • Koç University ranked in 3 rankings: QS: 431, RUR: 384, and THE: 375
  • ODTÜ ranked in 3 rankings: QS: 336, RUR: 382, and THE: 375
  • İTÜ ranked in 2 rankings: QS: 404, RUR: 385
  • Boğaziçi University ranked in 1 ranking: US NEWS&WORLD REPORT: 377
  • Sabancı University ranked in 1 ranking: THE: 375
  • Çankaya University ranked in 1 ranking: US NEWS&WORLD REPORT: 173
  • Istanbul University ranked in 1 ranking: ARWU: 450
  • Hacettepe University ranked in 1 ranking: Leiden: 410
  • Sağlık Bilimleri University ranked in 1 ranking: Leiden: 449 and entered the top 500.

5 STATE UNIVERSITIES

Thus, ODTÜ, Boğaziçi, Hacettepe, İTÜ, and Istanbul universities, which are state universities that have gained research university status, entered the top 500 in 2023.

6 UNIVERSITIES ENTERED ALL 11 WORLD RANKINGS

The report also included information about Turkish universities that ranked in different rankings outside the top 500. According to this, Hacettepe, Istanbul Technical, Ankara, Istanbul, Ege, and Gazi universities achieved the success of being included in all 11 world rankings.

Boğaziçi, ODTÜ, Koç, Bilkent, and Erciyes universities were included in 10 out of 11 world rankings. Marmara, Yıldız Technical, Dokuz Eylül, Atatürk, Gebze Technical, Sakarya, and Süleyman Demirel universities found a place in 9 rankings.

Bursa Uludağ, Sabancı, Çukurova, Fırat, Akdeniz, Eskişehir Osmangazi, and Kocaeli universities, along with İzmir Institute of Technology, were included in 8 rankings.

Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Selçuk, Van Yüzüncü Yıl, Çankaya, Istanbul Bilgi, Istanbul Aydın, TOBB Economics and Technology, Karadeniz Technical, Anadolu, Ondokuz Mayıs, İnönü, Başkent, and Pamukkale universities also found a place in 7 rankings.
