The incident occurred on December 17 in the Yıldırım Beyazıt neighborhood of Bornova. According to the information obtained, 10-year-old Mert Yetiştiren, who was home alone, conducted an experiment after watching cologne burning trend videos on TikTok. The little boy poured cologne on himself and set himself on fire with a lighter, and then he was unable to extinguish the flames, resulting in burns on his body. After struggling to put out the fire, the boy later informed his family about the situation via phone. His mother, who arrived home, then took Mert Yetiştiren to the hospital.
