NEARLY 250 HIV POSITIVE CHILDREN IN TURKEYIn a post regarding the tragic incident, Şahin pointed out a significant increase in HIV positive cases among children, stating, "Currently, there are 100 HIV positive children being monitored at Istanbul Medical Faculty. Of these children, 20 contracted the virus through sexual transmission. One is a case of abuse. Currently, there are nearly 250 known and diagnosed HIV positive children in Turkey."
