A 4.5 magnitude earthquake in Bitlis.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that an earthquake was recorded in the Tatvan district of Bitlis.

The earthquake, which occurred at 14:50, took place at a depth of 7 kilometers. The 4.5 magnitude earthquake was felt in surrounding provinces as well.

Meanwhile, geologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür had previously issued warnings regarding the region where Bitlis is located, stating, "There are cities sitting on dynamite barrels." Görür also mentioned, "That fault has the potential to produce large earthquakes. If earthquakes occur in cities like Bitlis, Urfa, Diyarbakır, Cizre, Nusaybin, Batman, etc., which are on the Arab platform between Adıyaman and Hakkari, it would not be a big surprise for me. I cannot predict the size and timing."
