A 4.7 magnitude earthquake in Rize.

In the morning hours, a 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Doğanşehir district of Malatya, followed by reports of another tremor from Rize. A 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck Rize, which is in a region classified as a level 4 area with very low earthquake risk in Turkey. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that there were no negative situations related to the earthquake, but two health calls were received due to fear.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that a 4.7 magnitude earthquake occurred at 12:02, with its epicenter in the Hemşin district of Rize. The tremor occurred at a depth of approximately 13 kilometers.

In the first statement from AFAD, it was said, "An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude occurred in the Hemşin district of our Rize province at 12:02. We are following the developments."

RIZE IS IN THE LEAST RISKY AREA

The least risky provinces in Turkey's earthquake map are located in the 4th and 5th degree earthquake zones. While the occurrence of an earthquake in Rize, which is in the 4th degree zone, was met with surprise, it also caused a brief panic.

AFAD announced that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at 10:46, with its epicenter in the Doğanşehir district of Malatya. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers, was felt in surrounding provinces.
