An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 occurred in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China last night. The earthquake shook the area again, which had already experienced the loss of 126 lives just a week ago. According to a statement from the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), the tremor occurred at 20:58 local time in the Dingri area of Shigatse city in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers, and so far, no casualties or property damage have been reported. The region had also been shaken by a major earthquake last week. The 6.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred on January 7 resulted in the destruction of many buildings, with 126 people losing their lives and 188 others injured. Local authorities have warned that aftershocks may continue and urged the public to remain cautious. Search and rescue operations, as well as aid efforts, are still ongoing in the area. CENC stated that they are closely monitoring seismic activities in the region following the earthquake and are prepared for potential risks.
