Beşiktaş called on TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, stating that the referee Kadir Sağlam, who officiated the match against Gaziantep FK, exercised his discretion in favor of the opponent.
In the 15th week of the Trendyol Super League, Beşiktaş drew 2-2 with Gaziantep Football Club at Tüpraş Stadium. After the match, the black-and-whites published a statement on their social media account. The statement regarding the decisions of the main referee and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) included the following expressions:
''WE ASK HACIOSMANOĞLU!''
"The referee Kadir Sağlam of the match our team played against Gaziantep FK in the Trendyol Super League and the VAR referee Halil Umut Meler, known for their hostility towards Beşiktaş, have directly affected the match's score with their disgraceful management. The VAR team, which was even incapable of drawing an offside line, caused our opponent to take the lead, and for some reason, they failed to award a clear penalty when our player Jota Silva was brought down in the penalty area by an opponent's intervention. The match referee Kadir Sağlam used his discretionary powers in favor of the opponent throughout the match and remained indifferent to the opponent's strategy of cooling down the game.
A few days ago, Turkey Football Federation President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, who participated in a live broadcast on a television channel, said, "They have found a village without dogs, and they are wandering around without a stick. As soon as I return, I will settle accounts with everyone, and I will do what is necessary."
We ask Mr. Hacıosmanoğlu;
Who are the ones who found a village without dogs?
Who are the ones wandering around without a stick in the village they found without dogs?
You said, "I will settle accounts with them as soon as I return." When will you settle accounts?
You said, "I will do what is necessary." What exactly will you do?
We urgently invite Hacıosmanoğlu to respond to our questions and, more than that, to take immediate action for the future of Turkish football."
