The Istanbul Governorship announced that temperatures in the megacity will drop by 4 to 8 degrees starting tomorrow evening. While the cold weather is expected to leave the region on Thursday, Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen warned, "A temperature drop of 10 degrees in one day is not an ordinary weather event."

Temperatures in Istanbul will drop to 8 degrees starting from tomorrow evening. The cold weather will show its effects in the megacity until Thursday.

TEMPERATURES DROP BY 8 DEGREES ALL AT ONCE

The Istanbul Governorship announced that air temperatures across the city will drop by 4 to 8 degrees starting from tomorrow evening. In a post on the governorship's social media account, it was stated, "According to the Meteorology, it is expected that air temperatures in our region will drop by 4 to 8 degrees starting from Sunday evening, and temperatures in Istanbul are expected to drop to 21 degrees. It is predicted that the cold weather will leave our region by Thursday."

"NOT A ORDINARY WEATHER EVENT"

Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen emphasized in a statement on his social media account that the sudden drop in temperature is not an ordinary weather event, saying: "In Marmara, temperatures that are 30 degrees and above today and tomorrow will drop to 20 degrees by Monday. A 10-degree drop in temperature in one day is not an ordinary weather event. Izmir is 30 degrees today, 24 degrees on Monday. Next week, the cooling will shift east, and by the weekend, it will rise again to average in the west."
