US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, speaking at the NATO Summit in Washington, announced that a coalition consisting of the US, the Netherlands, and Denmark will transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, and the aircraft will have reached Ukraine by this summer. Blinken stated that they are working to enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities against Russia, while Lloyd said, "We will implement the strongest NATO plans since the Cold War."

The news that will please Ukraine, which continues to fight with Russia, came from the NATO summit held in the USA. The coalition consisting of the USA, the Netherlands, and Denmark will deliver F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The planes will reach Ukraine this summer.

FOCUS ON "UKRAINE" AT THE NATO SUMMIT

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a speech at the "NATO Public Forum" event held within the NATO Summit in Washington. Blinken stated that the support for Ukraine to effectively respond to Russia's aggression will continue and that they are working on a very strong package of support.

Blinken announced that Denmark and the Netherlands will transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine and that the planes will have reached Ukraine this summer. The US Secretary of State said, "F-16 fighter jets will be flying in the skies of Ukraine this summer."

On the other hand, US President Joe Biden, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen made a joint written statement regarding the transfer of F-16s. The statement stated that "the Danish and Dutch governments are donating American-made F-16s to Ukraine with the support of the USA." The statement, which stated that the transfer process has started, announced that the F-16 fighter jets will become operational this summer.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT WILL ALSO BE PROVIDED

The statement stated that due to security concerns, additional details cannot be provided and emphasized the determination to increase Ukraine's air defense capability. The statement mentioned that the fourth-generation modern F-16 fighter jet fleet will be transferred to Ukraine and also highlighted that educational support will be provided.

He said, "Our membership in NATO has increased to 32 with the participation of Finland and Sweden. Know this well, (Russian President Vladimir) Putin's war in (Ukraine) is not the result of NATO's expansion, but the reason for NATO's expansion."

First, we will implement the strongest NATO plans since the Cold War, and this will significantly increase our deterrence and defense capabilities against any new threat."

Austin stated that they will work to increase industrial capacity and military production among NATO members and deepen cooperation on military and financial commitments to support Ukraine's defense. Austin said, "A coalition of countries is tirelessly working to provide F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, and today, President Biden, together with the Prime Ministers of the Netherlands and Denmark, is proud to announce the transfer of these planes. The transfer of F-16s is officially ongoing, and Ukraine will be flying these F-16s this summer."
